ABOUT OUR PHILANTHROPY

Arthritis

Alpha Omicron Pi’s international philanthropy is arthritis, and our philanthropy partner is the Arthritis Foundation. Since 1967, members and chapters have raised millions of dollars to fund research, provide resources, and support those affected by arthritis, a disease that disproportionately impacts women and also affects children.

AOII’s philanthropy dollars support several impactful Arthritis Foundation initiatives, including the Juvenile Arthritis Power Pack program, Juvenile Arthritis Camps, the Juvenile Arthritis Family Summit, and the 24/7 Helpline. Our Canadian sisters proudly support The Arthritis Society of Canada, furthering our shared mission to fight arthritis and improve lives.

OUR Local Efforts

We’re proud to continue this legacy of service at Sigma Omicron! Here’s how we’re making an impact in our community:In the past year, our chapter raised over **$12,000** in support of the Arthritis Foundation through our signature philanthropic events, **Strike Out Arthritis** and **AOII Goes Blue Week**. These events bring together sisters, alumni, family, friends, and community members to raise awareness and funding for arthritis research, advocacy, and patient support programs. Through fundraising, education, and service, our members are passionate about making a lasting impact on those affected by arthritis. We are incredibly proud of the dedication our chapter has shown to this cause and remain committed to supporting the Arthritis Foundation’s mission while strengthening our bonds as sisters through meaningful service.
